Olivia is struggling with the knowledge that the hedge fund is gone but doesn’t have the heart to tell Natalia. Natalia is excited and wants to stop by the farmhouse before they head for the Thanksgiving dinner at Marina and Mallet’s. When Olivia finds out that Natalia hired a new lawyer for Rafe, she finally admits that the money is gone. Crushed Natalia goes to see Rafe, who comforts his mother. Olivia follows Natalia to prison and the two women share a hug.

11.21.08 The Hedge Fund
Natalia finds out from Decker that the minimum investment on the hedge fund is a million dollars but he suggests to invest her eighty thousand with his lump sum. Natalia is excited and daydreaming about the house and Rafe living in it. Olivia is nervous when she hears about Natalia’s investment and even goes to Decker to see if it would be possible to pull out. Later Olivia hides her concern from Natalia but discovers that the hedge fund plummeted.
11.20.08 You’Re Not The Boss Of My Life
Olivia is upset when all her arguments about Natalia getting the farmhouse seemingly fall of deaf ears. Natalia seeks advice from Frank. Though Natalia tries to remain conservative, her persistent state of poverty is starting to get to her. After talking to Rafe and hearing his plans for college, she approaches Decker about getting in on the hedge fund.
11.14.08 Dinner With Decker
Overwhelmed Natalia gets a call from Buzz who admits that he was the one who moved up the dinner and a delivery of everything necessary is expecting her on the porch. In the meantime, Olivia works hard to entertain the guests by trying to wow them with Emma’s spelling bee abilities. Natalia pulls everything off and Decker is extremely pleased. After dinner is over, Olivia suggests that Natalia buys the farmhouse.
11.13.08 I Am Breathy
Olivia’s and Natalia’s partnership is growing more comfortable every day but they still manage to have their argumentative banter. Olivia puts Natalia in charge of the dinner with Decker and hotel business partners from China to be served at Cassie’s farmhouse. The dinner is suddenly moved up and Olivia and Natalia are left scrambling to pull everything together.
11.10.08 How Am I Supposed To Say Goodbye To This House
Natalia struggles with the decision to give up the house in order to move Rafe to a better prison, and takes her frustration out on Olivia. When Natalia goes to visit Rafe, she finds out that he is in infirmary with a staph infection. She tells Olivia that she’s made up her mind and says goodbye to the house and Gus.

11.07.08 The Governor Wants Your House
While taking care of Gus’ house, Natalia is fighting the ghosts of her past and struggling with the pain of having lost Gus. Olivia approaches the governor about Rafe’s case and the governor indicates that he is willing to help but needs something in return.
11.03.08 Doesn’t Just Happen…It Happens Big
Olivia and Natalia argue over how Olivia handled the situation with Rafe. Olivia insists that sometimes you need to fight while Natalia is convinced that she can’t do it unless she is working within the system. Later, Olivia puts the governor on the spot with regard to the prison reform in order to help Rafe.

10.30.08 Halloween Shopping/Confrontation With A Prison Warden
Olivia is still recovering from her surgery and Natalia takes Emma Halloween costume shopping. Olivia gets Daisy’s message about Rafe getting beaten up and rushes to prison. There she reams the warden out much to Natalia’s horror.

10.28.08 It Was Better Because You Were Here
Olivia feels much better after the surgery and is anxious to leave the hospital to take her meeting with Decker. Natalia objects at first but seeing that it’s important to Olivia, agrees to help her attend the meeting. Rafe asks Natalia not to visit him today, hiding the fact that he’s been badly beaten up in prison. Natalia sends Daisy to see Rafe. Olivia is upset when she realizes that Natalia missed a visitor’s day but is grateful for Natalia being there to help.
