Frank and Natalia bond while talking about Marina and Rafe. Max condition suddenly worsens and everyone gathers at the hospital, terrified for the baby. The doctors try to help the baby but hours later Mel tells a heartbroken family that Max is gone. Everyone grieves the death of baby Max.

08.01.08 Natalia Travels to L.A./Olivia Teams Up With Remy
Natalia travels to L.A. because of Alan’s vision and runs into Lizzie there. Lizzie insists that Alan’s visions are not real but Natalia can’t help but have faith. Olivia tells Bill that he will not take Max away from Ava and asks Remy for help.

Alan continues to gather sad rich widows around him with the promise of giving them hope and talking about his visitions of Gus. Natalia feels drawn to that and Olivia warns her to stay away from Alan. Olivia calls Alan out on offering false hope to all those people, but Alan insists that this is real.
07.14.08 Ava’s Marriage Starts To Crumble
Ava shows up at Remy’s place in hopes of renewing their friendship. Bill and Lizzie meet at the cottage where Bill realizes that Lizzie assumed he bought the cottage to be their secret meeting place. Bill confesses that’s not the case and that he bought the place for Ava and Max. When distraught Lizzie tries to leave, Bill stops her and begs her to stay. Olivia is looking for Ava everywhere and becomes worried. She calls Bill and interrupts Bill and Lizzie in the middle of a passionate kiss. Bill finds Ava at Remy’s and lectures her for disappearing. At home, Bill and Ava have an argument about Remy. Olivia senses the tension between Bill and Ava as Ava becomes visibly disillusioned in her married life.
07.10.08 Secluded, Cozy, Perfect For a Family
Dinah and Olivia continue to spar over who calls the shots at the mansion. Bill admits to Olivia that he knows about the baby but chose to get past it. Ava is excited to discover a cabin Bill has recently purchased and assumes that it’s a surprise for her and Max. Lizzie finds the description of the cabin and begins to think Bill bought it for their secret meetings; Bill doesn’t correct her. Ava has a scare with the baby and Dinah takes her to the hospital. Olivia asks Lizzie to give Bill and Ava space so that they can have a chance at being a family. Later Lizzie makes a call to Bill asking him to meet her – he won’t regret it.
07.04.08 The 4th of July
Everyone gathers at Josh’s and Cassie’s farmhouse to celebrate the 4th of July. Natalia confesses to Alan that she feels out of place. Remy finds out from Lizzie about Ava going to a fertility clinic and later tells Ava how disappointed he is in her for lying.
07.03.08 Ava and Bill Get Married
Bill refuses to believe Lizzie but she convinces him it’s the truth. Ava confesses that she has feelings for Remy but she is determined to go through with her wedding. Bill confronts Ava about her lies but then determines that the wedding will still happen, because he wants the baby more than he is mad at Ava. Bill makes it clear it will be a marriage of convenience. Ava and Bill say their vows.
07.02.08 Nothing Is Going To Spoil This Day
As Ava’s and Bill’s wedding day begins, everyone is faced with choices. Lizzie struggles as to whether to tell Bill that the baby isn’t his and Remy tries to tell Ava how he feels. Olivia is worried because Jeffrey is missing as the ceremony draws near. Remy finally tells Ava that he loves her. Lizzie tells a disbelieving Bill the truth.
07.01.08 Jeffrey Reveals Ava’s Secret
Ava and Bill sign the papers in preparation for their wedding. Jeffrey remains concerned over Bill’s feelings for Ava. Ava has a pregnancy scare and Remy takes care of her. Olivia tells Remy to stay away from Ava. Jeffrey tells Lizzie about Ava’s secret – the baby is not Bill’s and tells her to do what she wants with that information.

06.26.08 Ava’s Baby Shower/Rafe Calls Natalia
Ava’s baby shower is in full swing but Ava is still feeling out of place as she tries to adjust to her new life. Lizzie causes the commotion by showing up at Towers. Rafe calls Natalia from Greece and Olivia picks up the phone. Bill makes sure that Lizzie leaves and makes a toast to his future with Ava. Olivia is there when Natalia talks to Rafe and cries after the phone call with her son.
