After seeing Emma and Otalia together, Phillip and Beth comment on how “close” they are with knowing smiles. On the way to the wedding, Otalia and Emma invite Rafe to attend with them. Although he had made other arrangements, Rafe softens and tells Natalia he’ll take things “one step at a time.” Otalia and Emma visit Alan at the hospital, where he acknowledges how happy their family is. Doris brings a date to the wedding; Ashlee is thrilled. At the wedding, Reva notes how happy Olivia and Natalia are; Josh informs her that they’re a couple. The two couples exchange vows.

09.04.09 – Sonogram Appointment
Emma brings Phillip the cookies that she baked with Olivia and Natalia. Olivia shares with Phillip that Emma’s belief is that the cookies will heal him. Phillip and Olivia talk. Olivia later runs into Buzz and they discuss Frank and Natalia’s baby. Meanwhile, Blake and Natalia talk about including Frank in the baby’s life. Rafe informs Alan that he is enlisting in the army. Phillip urges Natalia not to allow Olivia to push her away. At the hospital, Natalia tells Frank that she wants the baby to have all the family it can possibly have. Phillip runs into Olivia and discuss his acceptance of his terminal condition. Ashlee confides in Rafe that Doris is gay. Olivia shows up for the sonogram.
09.03.09 – Phillip Tells Olivia and Emma He’s Dying
Natalia invites Olivia to the sonogram but Olivia declines. At Company, Natalia reminds Frank of the sonogram appointment. Frank and Olivia talk, and Frank encourages Olivia to attend. Alan runs into Natalia at the hospital and tells Natalia that Phillip is dying. Meanwhile, Phillip tells Olivia and Emma the sad news. Natalia tells Doris that she will wait for Olivia to come back to her, because Olivia is the love of her life. Later, Emma bakes cookies with Natalia for Phillip.

Olivia is there for Ava as her daughter struggles with the loss of Jeffrey. Olivia reveals to Ava that her and Natalia fell in love but Natalia left.
07.24.09 I Would Have Done the Same
Ava is back for Jeffery’s memorial service. Doris officiates the service and everyone speaks a memory of Jeffrey as they place a memento in the box. Doris talks about how Jeffrey was in and out of the courtroom and places a gavel into the box. Rafe speaks about Jeffrey writing letters of reccomendation to facilitate his parole and places the letters in the box. Olivia places a photo of Ava and asks that Reva give one of Colin so that both of Jeffrey’s children are represented. Ava speaks about her father. Reva angrily confronts the photo of Jeffrey about leaving her and not letting her say goodbye. Phillip and Olivia talk about saying goodbye to the person you love.
07.13.09 Bill and Lizzie’s Wedding
Olivia attends the impromptu wedding for Bill and Lizzie. Emma is a flower girl. Rafe feels he needs to express himself to Olivia. It’s a beautiful wedding, but being there without Natalia is too hard for Olivia and she allows Phillip to stay with Emma and bring her home later.
07.06.09 It’s Not Fair for You Not to Talk to Me
Olivia searches for Natalia to find out why she didn’t show up at the BBQ. When she can’t find her she goes to the police station to report her missing. Olivia and Frank talk about their relationships with Natalia. Father Ray explains to Olivia that Natalia went on a retreat. When Olivia is too overcome emotionally to drive she calls Phillip to come and drive her home.

Natalia still struggles with her new situation and Olivia continues waiting at the BBQ. Blake tries to talk to Natalia. Natalia doesn’t know what to say to Olivia who calls Blake when she begins to worry about Natalia not showing. Rafe talks to Natalia about what he’s feeling. Blake relays a message to Olivia. Natalia leaves town as Olivia falls apart.
